Lessons From A Dead Girl

By Jo Knowles

Leah is dead.

Laine wanted that to happen. She hated her. But feeling kinda responsible for it forces Laine to deal with what happened between them.

In the closet.

"Practicing." Leah called it.

Why her?

What did it mean?

And how does Laine move on?

My thanks to theglowstickqueen for the recommendation! Oh and the main character has a gay best friend. Add your review of "Lessons From A Dead Girl" in comments!

I loved this book - it's so, so powerful. And Jo's new novel, JUMPING OFF SWINGS, is every bit as amazing.

Amazing book. I highly recommend it as a Young Adult librarian and as a fan of Jo Knowles! And I agree with Kate that her new book is very good. Definitely read both if you have a chance.

Enjoy!

I think it's totally inappropriate for those under 14. Kind of perverted.

I work really hard to keep this blogsite a "safe space." At the same time, I really want readers to be empowered when sharing their reviews to be honest about what they thought. So I'm letting your review stand, but just a friendly note that the more specific you can be in criticism, the less it sounds like an attack on the author or the book.
To say "Kind of perverted" is different than saying, "The subject matter was really disturbing to me."

Having said that, I'm glad you're participating in the discussion.

Namaste,
Lee
