Huntress by Malinda Lo
Nature is out of balance in the human world. The sun hasn’t shone in years, and crops are failing. Worse yet, strange and hostile creatures have begun to appear. The people’s survival hangs in the balance.
To solve the crisis, the oracle stones are cast, and Kaede and Taisin, two seventeen-year-old girls, are picked to go on a dangerous and unheard-of journey to Taninli, the city of the Fairy Queen. But the Kingdom needs only one huntress to save it, and what it takes could tear Kaede and Taisin apart forever.

I read this and loved it, particularly the Asian feel she gave this story. I enjoyed Ash, too.. Now I am waiting for Lo's next book to come out.
Beautifully written book, it quickly became one of my favourites :) I'm certainly looking forward to more books from Malinda Lo
I loved Huntress! It is a classic sword and sorcery YA fantasy novel in the Robin McKinley vein, with these kickass protagonists who fall in love.
Looks fascinating! I love folklore/fairy-tale/mythology-based stories, so I immediately put a hold on this book from my library.
