It's a great article.
You know, when I was a kid I wanted to be a boy because they had so much more freedom than girls - and I'm sure part of that was the fact that no female protagonists in the books I read ever did anything daring or adventurous.
I can see that the absence of gay protagonists was even more profound. I'm glad you're redressing the balance.
