THE 2013 COMMENT CHALLENGE!
So here's how it works:
For 21 days in a row (from today, January 11 through Thursday January 31) leave at least five comments on different kid lit blogs a day. Five a day, and research shows that in 21 days you'll have a new habit. (And elementary school math shows that you'll have left 105 comments - but we'll give you one day off, so the goal is 100 comments!)
Where do you find blogs to comment on?
The sign up list below is one great place to start. You can also check out the blogrolls on blogs you visit, and the kidlitosphere lists offer many many many blogs to choose from!
Why do it?
Participating in the Comment Challenge is a great way to connect with our Kid Lit Community, and let's face it - it's easy to just be consumers of content and not interact. But interaction - contributing to the conversation - is really what takes things to the next level! Oh, and there will be some randomly chosen prize winners...
Get motivated!
We'll be doing week one and week two check-ins at MotherReader's blog on Friday January 18 and Friday January 25, and then a final how-did-you-do post here on January 31st!
Ready to get started?
Add your name to the Mr. Linky tool below! (And of course, you're welcome to leave a comment here to add your voice to the fun - and then you'll only have 99 comments to go!)
Here's to a great 2013 Comment Challenge for us all!

Great, I joined in last year and it was fun, so decided to give it a go again this year. Happy Birthday, Lee!
It's on!
Yay! I was just wondering if this was going to be happening again this year and I'm so happy that it will! I didn't do so well last year, but I am determined to meet my goal this year. Thanks for hosting the challenge!!!
Thanks for leading the charge, Lee! This is always such a fun event.
I'm excited to do this again!
Thank you for doing this again. I always look forward to it!
Delighted that Comment Challenge is up and running again this year. Thanks Lee!
I was wondering if there would be a comment challenge this year. So glad there is and thank you for hosting this event.
I love this encouragement to connect with other bloggers! Thank you for organizing!
Yippeee! I've been waiting for this to start! I joined last year and had a ball. I "met" lots of new people (Hi Joanna!) and made some lasting connections.
Thanks for hosting.
Thanks for hosting again, Lee and MotherReader!
Y'all are right - it's time to get back into good habits, supporting other fans and friends of YA lit.
Back for a second year,
Katy
Thanks, Lee. This sounds like a wonderful way to get to know other kidlit writers!
"...it's easy to just be consumers of content and not interact." I read this past year that ninety-one percent of Internet activity is consumption. Eight percent is interaction, and one percent is production. If true, it's kind of mind-boggling, given how much stuff has been produced for the Internet
I was just wondering last night if this would be happening again. Excellent! Thank you!
I'll give it a go! :) e
Thanks for hosting (again), Lee and Pam! I love the comment challenge--it motivates me to comment more, and also to write more (bonus!). Re Gail's stats, wow.
I guess this means I have to come out of my hobbit hole? This is a great idea, though, and an excellen antidote to trollery and all the sad press given to trollery.
Awesome--I've been wondering if this would be back! I did it last year and it was great.
Can't wait!
Thanks for the New Year's nudge to interact! I'm going to give it a try.
Every year I meet new friends with the Comment Challenge. Big thanks to you and Pam for keeping it going! Happy 2013!
I loved this last year! Thank you so much!
I'll give it a try. What a great idea!

Yay, time for the Comment Challenge! Thanks for this annual buttocks-nudging, guys.
Hello. I did this last year and found it such a great way to find new kid lit blogs, as well as reconnect with familiar faces. Thanks for doing it again.

What a great idea! I've found some wonderful new (to me) blogs already. Thanks for starting this.
A little late but I am in! I had a grat time last year, and I really felt like a member of the community afterwards.
Thanks to you and Pam for hosting again!
We were late last year, and so I'm glad to have caught up on this challenge fairly early this year. We're excited to join once more! :)
I heard such good things about this from last year! Glad I have a chance to try it for 2013. Thank you for pulling this effort together!

Last year I sort of flopped with my commenting but this year I will do better!
I'm excited to give this a try with all of you. Thanks for hosting this and I look forward to connecting with all of you. Cheers!
Oh goody! Comment challenge is my favorite time of year. I only wish that I'd known about it on Friday!
My goal is 10 comments a day! :)
I'm a little late in the game, but I think I can catch up. Commenting more regularly on blogs is something I've been meaning to do anyway, and this seems like a great opportunity to not only get in the habit, but discover new book blogs.
i've been meaning to get in the habit of commenting on more blogs, and this is a great way to start and to discover new blogs!
Sorry I'm a couple of days late--hope to make up for lost time.
I'm looking forward to this challenge both for habit-building and for checking out some new blogs! Thanks for organizing!
I'm so glad I found out about this challenge--thanks Green Bean Teen Queen! Looking forward to participating in this :)
Thanks for the great challenge, Lee. Looking forward to some great blog reading! Everybody's welcome on the dance floor over at Word Disco.
I'm a few days behind but I'm in,I'm down, and I'm going for it. Going to comment right now!

RGian, which are the two numbers on the Mister Linky sign up that are duplicated? I'll see what I can do.
best!
Lee
I'm a little late in signing up, but hopefully I can catch up! What a great idea. So glad I read about in time to join!
i got a bit behind but will begin catch up mode...and passing the word on. even though it's late I think we can still get in the 'groove' if not a 'habit' in 15 days
This idea is fabu!
Thanks for initiating it.
Mazel tov!
This is such a great idea! I joined in hoping to get re-inspired for my blog, which has been left unattended for a minute. Hopeful that this will motivate me to blog again! Thanks!
Better late than never, though I tend to leave at least five comments a day anyway. Looking forward to discovering new blogs!
Maria @ once Upon a Story seems to
