Rosemary and Juliet

By Judy MacLean

Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" gets a Girl-Girl update!

In modern day Northern California, Rosemary "Romey" is the only out lesbian at her high school. Her Mom runs a women's clinic that has been targeted by anti-abortion activists.

Julie's Dad is a fundamentalist minister (let's just say he's against clinics like Romey's Mom's...) and Julie is the star of their church's choir.

But Romey and Julie are the

pair of star-cross'd lovers

who in Judy's version of the classic are destined to fall in love...

Will their love have more of a chance than the original "Romeo and Juliet?"
