"GLBTQ characters in Sci Fi and Fantasy books push the possibilities for Gay Teens – and for everyone else’s perceptions of what Gay people can do and be."

I love starting my day with articles that make me think. You've put together a great case on the value of books over movies and how they resonate more deeply with kids. Thanks Lee.

It's a great article, Lee.

Do you know the GLBT Fantasy Resources site? It's great for finding gay friendly science fiction.

I think I can understand how you feel because when I was growing up all protagonists were male so there was no room for me.

Absolutely lovely cover!

Hey, anyone/everyone: David Levithan is coming to Portland next week.

Is he as incredible in person as he is between a binding?

(Is he worth driving 4 hours for?)

This is a little ironic, because the only gay caracters I'd run across are in fantasy (okay, so I don't really read anything besides fantasy, but still).

Also, there is a prequel sereies to Battlestar Galactica called Caprica, and it features William's uncle Sam Adama, who is the most bada** hitman ever, and he has a husband named Larry. It makes me happy...
