Skim

By Mariko Tamaki, illustrated by Jillian Tamaki

This is a graphic novel about Kimberly Keiko Cameron, a.k.a. "Skim."

Skim goes to a girls' academy in Toronto. She's a bit goth, a bit Wiccan, a bit more than slim, and all teenager.

After a suicide, the school's in mourning, but Skim falls in love - and then falls into confusion when the object of her affection (a female teacher!) suddenly leaves the school.

Now Skim has to deal with friends, cliques, crushes... and "real" life.

Interesting to note: The author and illustrator are cousins. Add your review of "Skim" in comments!

I loved this graphic novel. It was just so sweet. I loved how the main character was into Wicca and that she was so real and unique. Her teacher was also a great character, quirky and fun!
Loved it!
